Reading

  Many skills can impact how well your child reads, which in turn affects whether they want or like to read.  Some of these skills are when your child:

    * doesn't know all the letters and their sounds

    * struggles with blending

    * sounds out every word

    * doesn't know sight words

    * can read, but doesn't remember what they've read.

    * can't answer comprehension questions.

    * reads like a robot, too slow, too fast, and/or without stopping at punctuation.

    * doesn't recognize main idea, fact/opinion, can't identify details, author's point of view, etc

    * can't summarize or retell what they've read in their own words

    This list is not an exhaustive list, but these are some of the most common skills that kids struggle with.  If you can identify with any of these, I'm here to help! If you don't see something on this list that your child struggles with, please don't hesitate to ask me how I can help your child with it.

     How will I help your child?

  • I will assess their current reading level to identify which concepts they struggle with.

  • Then, I will create a customized lesson map specifically for your child.

  • I will reassess them consistently and provide you with a report comparing their previous assessment with the new one to show progress and identify which skills we still need to strengthen.

NO TWO CHILDREN ARE THE SAME, THEREFORE, NO TWO LESSON MAPS ARE THE SAME!
