As an elementary student, I knew by third grade that I wanted to become a teacher. I loved school, loved learning, and often played “teacher” with my friends.

 

I LOVE school!

 

But as I got older, school became much harder.

Although I could read the words on a page, understanding what I read became frustrating. Homework felt overwhelming, and I began to experience firsthand what it feels like when learning becomes discouraging instead of joyful.

 

I HATE school!

 

Those experiences shaped the kind of teacher I would become.

As a classroom teacher, I quickly realized that many students were facing the same struggles I once experienced—frustration, anxiety, low confidence, and feeling stuck.

I became passionate about finding ways to teach differently so students could finally experience success, helping students experience those “lightbulb moments” when learning finally clicks.

 

Leave my dream career of teaching?

 

When health circumstances eventually led me away from the classroom, I transitioned to online tutoring—and discovered exactly where I was meant to be.

Since 2016, I’ve had the privilege of helping students grow in reading, math, confidence, and their love of learning.

 

THIS is why I LOVE what I do!

 

From anxious students learning to participate in class again to struggling readers discovering success for the first time, I’ve seen firsthand how the right support can change a child’s entire outlook on learning.

Watching students grow in confidence, discover success, and begin believing in themselves again is one of the greatest joys of my work.

I believe every child can learn with the right support, the right strategies, and a teacher who truly understands their challenges.
