A strong, step-by-step foundation for beginning readers

If your child is just starting to read or is still unsure of letters and sounds, this is where we begin.

Learn to Read With CAT Program.png

I have been teaching children how to read since 1992, and I love what I do. Over the years, I’ve used a variety of hands-on, engaging approaches that help children learn without feeling overwhelmed.

After getting your input and assessing what your child already knows, I create an individualized lesson map specific to their needs. We begin with foundational skills such as phonological awareness, letter–sound connections, and sight words. Once they’re ready, we move into blending sounds and reading words. From there, we transition into reading decodables. As your child builds confidence, they continue growing with more advanced decodable texts.

Along the way, we use games, writing activities, and interactive tools like Koala Go Playground to keep learning engaging and meaningful.

You will also have access to the programs we use, so your child can continue practicing between sessions.

What your child will experience in each session:

  • Hands-on phonics and sound work

  • Guided reading with decodable texts

  • Sight word practice through games and activities

  • Writing and letter formation practice

  • Interactive learning using engaging digital tools

Not sure where to start?

Start with a free consultation or book your first session — whichever works best for you.

No two children are the same - therefore, no two lesson maps are the same!
